Why this site exists
Products that are a matter of course in everyday life in Morocco are easy to order here but hard to judge. If you search for argan oil, you get a great many results without learning how they differ. With tagines, it is rarely stated whether the clay is glazed and what that means for use.
This is exactly the gap marokko-shop.com aims to close. Not yet another product list, but the criteria you can use to decide for yourself, clearly explained and checkable before you buy.
My connection to Morocco
What interests me about Morocco is both: the country and its people on the one hand, and the craftsmanship quality of its products on the other. With seemingly identical goods, the differences in material and workmanship are often greater than they appear at first glance.
My focus is on natural cosmetics (argan oil, Beldi soap, Rhassoul clay) and on Moroccan cooking, above all the tagine. These are the areas this site concentrates on in terms of content. I cover other categories more briefly.
How I work
Every recommendation on this site comes with a reason. If a product is not suitable for a particular purpose, that is stated too: a cosmetic oil does not belong in the kitchen, and a brass lantern does not belong on the balcony permanently.
An important note for context: I do not test the linked products myself. The content is created editorially from manufacturer and expert information as well as generally accessible sources; what I pass on are the buying criteria that matter for the respective product category. In the end, everyone still makes the specific product choice for themselves.
How I make money
This site is funded through the Amazon affiliate program. If you buy something through a link here, I receive a commission from Amazon. The price does not change for you. I do not sell anything myself, ship anything, or process any orders; the purchase takes place entirely on Amazon.
What I stick to
Criteria instead of superlatives
Every recommendation names the features that matter, not just that something is “the best.”
The downsides too
Where a product does not fit, it says so. A recommendation without any caveat is rarely honest.
Prices only at Amazon
Amazon prices change constantly, so we do not list fixed prices here. The current price on Amazon is always the one that counts.
Advertising disclosed
All product links are affiliate links and are marked as such, on every page, not just in the fine print.
